This is a pattern I've been wanting to make for a while. I've crocheted a twist headband before for a library program, but thought it would be fun to try a knit version. I might actually enjoy making these headbands more than I enjoy making beanies! They definitely use less yarn!
I used my Addi king-size knitting machine for this project, which has 46 needles.

Materials:
Knitting machine
Yarn of choice (I've found weight 3 (light) yarn works best)
Scissors
Needle
Instructions:
Make sure the machine is set to circular mode. Cast onto your machine. Crank slowly for the first couple of rounds to make sure the needles aren't dropping stitches.

Knit 96 rows for the headband.
Use the needle to thread the yarn tail through the loops from the last row to cast off.
Once you have your knit tube off the machine, take the separate ends and fold them over each other. I know this part is probably confusing, so please use the sketch below for reference on how to fold the ends of the headband together.

Once you have the ends folded together, use your needle and yarn to stitch through all layers, closing the ends and forming the headband shape. Flip your headband right side out to reveal the twist pattern.
Make sure any loose yarn ends are tucked in.
