Pop Tart Tablet Sleeve

Lately, I've been using my tablet more and more - for reading, looking for ideas on Pinterest to create, or just watching movies. I especially like using it for Pinterest ideas though. It's nice to have the bigger screen without having to carry my laptop around. However, I don't have a case for it. This pop tart tablet sleeve has been perfect for storing my tablet when it's not in use! It's not very bulky either, making it easy to store.

This project is easily customizable; from something as simple to changing sprinkle colors to changing the look of the pop tart entirely! I made this one for my Lenovo tablet, but it would also fit an iPad.

Materials:

  • Medium(4) acrylic yarn in light brown, white, and *pink

  • 5 mm crochet hook

  • Scissors

  • Crochet/tapestry needle

*Instead of pink for the sprinkles, feel free to use whichever colors you like. I just happened to use pink. Multicolored sprinkles would also look cute!

Instructions:

Pop tart base:

Start with the light brown yarn. Chain 19.

Rows 1 - 32: Single crochet (SC). Chain 1. Turn to next row.

After the last row; chain 1, cut, and knot.

Repeat for the other side of the pop tart.

Frosting:

Use white yarn. Chain 17.

Rows 1 - 30: SC. Chain 1. Turn to next row.

After the last row; chain 1, cut, and knot.

Sprinkles:

Use sprinkle color of choice.

Using your tapestry/crochet needle, stitch the sprinkles onto the white (frosting) panel of the pop tart. Make sure you don't pull too tightly. Knot yarn on the back of the panel when you start and finish to secure.

Sew the white (frosting) panel onto one of the brown panels, sprinkle side up.

Sew both sides of the pop tart together. Knot and weave in all remaining yarn ends to finish.
