You can make a lot of things from an old sweater! I had a sweater I didn't want to wear anymore, so I decided to try making something else out of it! The goal was to make an ear warmer, mittens, and an infinity scarf. You could also make hats, arm warmers, or a traditional scarf from a sweater.

I started by laying my sweater out and cutting the pieces. I drew a rough sketch of where to cut for each piece beforehand. Be sure to trim off any edges that aren't straight in order to get a clean finish. Any extra material after cutting could be saved for future projects or tossed.

After cutting, I flipped each project inside-out and pinned everything in place. Then I sewed around the edges, leaving about 1/2 inch seam allowance. Sadly, the ear warmer did not turn out well, but the infinity scarf and mittens were great. You could even sew a lining in the mittens if you want them to be warmer!

Overall, this was a fun project! It showed me the many different ways a sweater can be broken down into useful items, and I hope this inspires you to tackle a project like this one! Happy sewing, everybody!
